North Coast 500

I would drive 500 miles: Scotland’s new North Coast 500 Route

The new North Coast 500 road trip is Scotland’s answer to America’s Route 66. Drive it, bike it, cycle it! Voted as one of the worlds best Drives, wild beaches, high passes and spooky ruins… and what’s even better is we’re located on it!

North Coast 500: More than 500 miles of the best the North Highlands has to offer. The route way runs to and from Inverness, venturing round the capital of the Highlands, up the West Coast and back via the rugged north coast.

We were recently delighted to meet up with Claire Farquhar of North Highland Initiative, creators of the NorthCoast500. Claire popped in to visit us at the Smokehouse on a lovely sunny day in Wester Ross. She has been driving the route with a fleet of super cars including Lamborghini’s and Mercedes… now that’s living life in the fast lane!

The app is designed to allow you to discover the North Coast 500 while on the move, and provide all of the information you will need to complete the North Coast 500.

With hundreds of things to see and do, you are going to need your handy app with you to make sure you don’t miss anything out!Search for businesses across the map, identify places to stop and see how close you are to great attractions, all on the new NC500 app!

The app will be available offline too – so when you are surrounded by the splendour of the natural Highlands, you will still be able to find out where you nearest watering hole is.

App now available to download for Apple & Android devices.
